What Is a Gummy Smile?
A gummy smile is a condition where you can see more then a normal amount of someones gums when they are smiling. It is mostly due to the overgrowth of the gum tissue or abnormal positioning of the upper jaw bone.

What Causes a Gummy Smile?
A gummy smile is actually a conditioning which there is too much gum tissue visible when a person smiles. This can be due to the size and shape of the teeth, the position of the upper lip, and the thickness of the gum tissue. Some people are born with a gummy smile, while others may develop it over time due to many reasons including medical conditions or the way that our body formed. In most cases, a gummy smile is harmless and simply cosmetic in nature.
